Feldenkrais Method
Developed by Moshe Feldenkrais, a Ukrainian-born physicist (1904-1984), the Feldenkrais Method is a mind/body discipline designed to bring greater awareness and control to all that we do. It is taught by verbal instruction in groups (Awareness Through Movement®) or individually by gentle hands-on work (Functional Integration®). Through the use of slow, gentle, non-habitual movement students develop greater conscious control of themselves with greater coordinated participation throughout their whole body. Improvement in flexibility, breathing, circulation, range of motion, strength, mental agility/acuity and impulse control are all side benefits that can result from the work as well. This Feldenkrais Method work is effective for all ages and all ability levels. Christine graduated from a Feldenkrais Guild of North America training course in 1994 and has completed advanced training for use of the Feldenkrais work with infants and children.
